Wied l-Ghasri ( Ghasri Vally) part of Ghasri and easily reached from Malsalforn and Ghasri located underneath the village of Zebbug, is one of the most beautiful spots in Gozo for swimming in the summertime and also for country walks or bike rides in the winter and spring. The small bay at the end of the valley is reachable by a staircase cut into the rock (Be Careful of falling rocks while going up and Down the Stairs). Wied l-Ghasri is also popular with divers who love to explore the underwater caves that are located around the valley. The narrow and secluded bay is a heavenly spot for those who seek a quiet place for a swim.
On The right side of the valley, one can see a number of man-made salt pans. The problem was that the salt pans were on the top of the valley making them almost impossible to be filled by sear water. So to fill the salt pans with the sea wated the owners back in the day decided that where the valley meets the sea is a unique case was the perfect spot to dig a shaft dug right up to the top of the steep cliff above. This shaft in the past had a rig of ropes and buckets to bring up seawater to fill the saltpans.
According to information we have in the 18th century, The inner part of wide l-Ghasri was owned and frequented by a Maltese clockmaker. This clockmaker decided to dig a well in a cave entrance in the sea creating what today we call Ghare il-Qamh
