Sannat is a small town with a population of 2,117 (as of March 2014) in the southern part of the island of Gozo. Sannat is built of a High Cliff which is filled with ancient cart ruts, temples, dolmens and it is also rich in fauna and flora. The town is connected directly to 3 Towns Xewkija, Victoria and Munxar. The name Sannat was derived from an Arabic-Greek family who moved to Gozo from Sicily.
Ta' Cenc is stunning cliffs that form part of the village of Sannat. These cliffs are home to a number of wildlife species and are the highest cliffs on the island of Gozo. Ta' Cenc apart from being an important ecological and geographical site is also the home of the Imramma Temple. Roaming around ta' Cenc one can see the dolmen another interesting prehistoric remain. This is formed by a large stone supporter by three smaller stones. From the top of the cliffs, one wough be treated by breath-taking views of the deep blue Mediterranean Sea which surrounds the Maltese Islands.
The Village of Sannat is also well known for its beautiful green valleys including the Hazira Vally, a Large valley splitting Sannat from the towns of Xewkija and Ghajnsielem. This valley leads down to one of the most iconic beaches in Gozo, Mgarr ix-Xini. This Rocky bay is a top diving destination on the island due to the fact that it houses a lot of marine life and also has many intriguing Caves. It is also known for its crystal clear water which makes it ideal for snorkelling. Another big attraction for divers is the wreckage of the Gozo Channel boat MV Xlendi which is located a few hundred metres away from the bay
